The positives and negatives of life balance out

Life is not a continuous journey of happiness. Nor is it a path full of only sorrows. It is a combination of both. The positives and negatives of life balance out in the end and we should realise that the good and the bad are just two sides of the same coin and we need to value both and accept both as a necessary part of life. The positives give us joy and happiness and encouragement and other good things while the negatives tech us lessons we cannot learn from the good. Joy without sorrow, success without defeat and health without illness does not give us full appreciation of the good. We need to encounter the bad in order to savor the good.
These opposing forces of good and bad help us learn life lessons which help us in our journey through life. If we handle our troubles correctly we can change them something positive and good. If our plans fail, we can sit and work out new plans that do better. So all the problems and difficulties we face, prepare us to become better and nicer. It is only through sorrow that we can learn about happiness and it is pain and turmoil that leads us to peace ad calm.

Both phases are temporary
When we are down and out, we ask “why me?” But when we are happy and successful we take it for granted. We don’t wonder why we have been blessed. But we need to understand that every happiness is balanced by sorrow and every sorrow will lead to happiness. Both phases are temporary – they will both pass. If we allow sadness to defeat us, it will. But if we use the sorrow and pain to look for ways to better our situation, we can resolve problems and go ahead. Troubles give us the energy to start afresh. So make use of this energy, nurture it, get strength and hope from it and use it to take you to a happier and better phase in your life.
When one door closes, another opens in its place – this is a maxim of life. So through every troubled period in your life, overcome the obstacles, fight the wrongs, get past the suffering and reach joy, happiness and peace.

Nobody is exempt from the ups and downs of life

Every person on earth goes through good times and bad times. This is true of rich people and of poor people – nobody is exempt from the ups and downs of life. The good times bring happiness and allow us to enjoy that period. The bad times are always difficult but we should not give up when that happens. The struggle during the bad times in our life are what takes us out of that period into better times. Once we are back again in the happy phase of life, the obstacles, difficulties all disappear and the struggles to get there become worthwhile.
It is very easy to lose faith in yourself and in your efforts during times of trouble. But don’t give up. Keep yourself steady and firm. Your confidence is the anchor that will see you through all your troubles and your woes. Be patient, and tell yourself that you can make it, that you will get over this, no matter how difficult it is right now.

Expressive by nature
Human beings are expressive by nature – so we laugh when we are happy and cry when we are upset. These expressions of our emotions is good for us. It is healing so don’t bottle up your feelings. Releasing your emotions can actually empower you – it is nature’s way of calming you and giving you strength. So take relief in tears and allow others to do it too.
Once you had had a good cry over your problems and frustrations, then see how you can get out of the bad situation you are in. Don’t stay immersed in your emotions – that will only make the difficulty that much harder to get out of. The problems become bigger. So shake off the feeling of sadness and see how you can improve things for yourself and for others.
Life has taught me that the troubled times are actually very necessary and good for us. They teach us important life lessons. Every bad situation gives us strength and makes us tough. Our attitude towards life becomes more positive and we become better and more generous by nature.

Scars are reminders of our difficult times

As we go through life, we get hurt, we suffer losses and pains and these leave a scar on us. Physical scars leave a mark even after they heal. But emotional and mental scars also do not disappear. They are reminders of our difficult times and as such they teach us important lessons in life. They teach us to be strong, to be wise, to be compassionate and to be good. They build our character and shape our destiny.
While our mistakes and failures shape our lives, do remember to leave the past in the past. Learn from the past but do not carry it into your today and tomorrow. Constant worrying over the past will stop you from progressing and enjoying the present and the future. Take concrete steps to ensure that your future is good, step forward to create a better life for yourself.
It is in our nature to keep thinking about what happened, what went wrong, and when we do this, it creates unnecessary negativity in our minds and in our lives. It is a trap that we can fall into very easily. It can only increase our unhappiness and self doubts – so stay away from such harmful thinking.
Each scar is a reminder of a mistake or a failure
Each scar is a reminder of a mistake or a failure – learn from these. The lessons you learn will help you tackle problems in the future. You will not make the same mistakes again because you are better prepared now. Your scars are your teachers and your guide.
Failing once does not mean you will fail again. Getting hurt does not mean you will get hurt again. But every failure, every hurt, every scar is an opportunity to learn something. So whatever lessons you learn from these, internalize them, make them part of your life. That way you can benefit from them and can control things that  cast a negative shadow on your life. For things you cannot control – accept them for what they are and move on.
Nobody said that life is easy and pain-free. You will get hurt, you will make mistakes, you will suffer the consequences of those mistakes. But your entire life does not have to become tragic because of that. Deal with the pain, tackle the mistakes, draw energy from your failures. Nothing is permanent in life – not even extreme pain and sorrow. It will pass. Do not get destroyed by past obstacles. Use them to rise from the ashes and carve a better future for yourself.

We also learn from rejections

We all have fixed ideas about the rights and wrongs of life. We think that rejections are bad for us while acceptances are good. But that is not always true. Just as we learn from our mistakes, so do we from all the rejections that we get over the years. Rejections are a part of life, they are our guiding light and they help us grow and evolve. In fact I would even say that rejections are a necessary part of life – they make us strong and ready to accept any kind of difficulty in life.
Rejections bring a fresh flow of energy. This is like a rush of adrenaline which is very important for anyone but especially so for an entrepreneur. This gush of energy that you feel after a rejection can be a positive force in your life or it can be a negative force – the choice is yours. This is what I have learnt from my life and my experiences. If you use these rejections in the right way, to channelize your energy in a productive way, then they are good for you – they become the reason for your success. As long as you trust your instincts, your rejections will help you do well – they will lead you to success, they will propel you forward, whether in business or in life.
Rejections are a great source of motivation
Rejections are a great source of motivation. They challenge you and make you seek other alternatives – they make you think about where you have gone wrong and they help you learn. True, they are road blocks, but not permanent ones, they are temporary obstacles which can be overcome. They are opportunities for you to introspect and grow.
Business is an unpredictable field. It is influenced by factors beyond your control. So if you think you will always be successful you are bound to be disappointed. Rejections teach you not to take success for granted. Rejections means that you will fail sometime but that is okay. Use the opportunity as a means of learning, and you will go even further in life.
Rejections force you to consider alternatives. They make you go over what you have done. They make you re-analyze and maybe come up with even better ways of doing business. They make you tougher and wiser. They help you become better entrepreneurs – so embrace rejections

When the economy is going through a downturn

When economies go through troubled times, the country’s finances get affected and investments suffer. The effects of this can be seen even after the economy starts recovering. In today’s global economy, where countries and markets are connected to one another, any ripple in one country has the power and capability to make an impact in another. So a labour strike in China affects the US economy while a slowdown in oil production in the Middle East casts a shadow over the Indian economy. When the world thus hovers between stability and instability, it becomes imperative to figure out where one should invest one’s money.
It is wise to keep saving even when the economy is going through a downturn – your commitment to creating wealth should not stop. Choose schemes that are simple and easy to understand. The less complicated the scheme, the easier it will be for you to put your money into it.
Money is paper and metal currency and holds value. But precious metals are also good investment options. They are likely to appreciate in value while money may not – if interest rates change or the stock market crashes. Putting part of your money into gold, silver and other precious metals will bring good returns in the long run.

When a country faces an economic and financial crisis
When a country faces an economic and financial crisis, the government could shut down banks or it could repossess the money in the banks. When this happens, your money that is in the bank could get confiscated and you may find it difficult to get the money for a long time. It thus makes sense for you to understand the economic situation and the different investment options so that you can decide where to put your money. You need to protect your money as well as have sufficient money for your expenses.
During an economic downturn, it might be tempting to hold your entire wealth in cash at home. But that gets you no return at all. It makes sense to understand how the market works, what the risks are and then invest. Stay focused. Have a back-up plan for your investments. Remember to diversify your portfolio so that your losses are contained when the economy goes tumbling down. Follow Warren Buffet’s rules for making money. Rule # 1 – Never lose money. Rule # 2 – Always follow Rule # 1.
