Human beings are not perfect – they have flaws, they
fumble and fall, they make mistakes.
Different people deal with mistakes in different ways. How they deal
with the mistakes they make, is what differentiates one person from another. When
people learn from their mistakes and do better the next time that they are in a
similar situation, then they can go ahead to other things. And this ability
makes them better people than those who whine about their mistakes and do
nothing to better their situation.
It is normal for entrepreneurs like for everybody else to
make mistakes and errors in judgment and decisions. But if they master the art
of turning them into learning experiences, then they will gain rather than lose
because of the mistakes they have made.
Tense,
concerned and worried
Mistakes in
business are upsetting. They make you feel tense, concerned and worried. But do
not let that demotivate you. Do not allow your anxiety to make you feel
depressed and unhappy. You are not the first person to make mistakes, all
successful people’s makes mistakes sometime or the other in their life and it
has taught them many useful life lessons. So get over your worries and your
care, don’t waste time being upset.
The sensible thing to do is accept your mistake and to
treat it as a learning experience. Figure out what went wrong, work out how to
avoid these problems the next time round and move ahead. Accepting and
acknowledging your mistake is the first step in learning. Your mistakes and how
you react to them makes you the person you are – if you learn from them and
make better decisions next time, it makes you a wiser and bigger person. If you
do not accept your mistakes you cannot move forward. You stop progressing. You
need to be mentally strong to admit your mistake and find out where you have
gone wrong. This will help you grow and benefit. Do not make excuses about your
mistakes – just accept them as part of your growing up. Do not blame others –
take accountability for your mistakes and become a better person and
entrepreneur.
