All of us want a lot out of life – tons of money, success in our professional life and a great family life abounding with love and happiness. But how many of us achieve all this? Some find the love but do not do so in their work life. Others are immensely successful in their professions but have nobody special to share their happiness and money with. Is it difficult for love and money to exist together or is it possible to get both at the same time.
What is success? How do we define it? I suppose it varies from person to person. Suppose you perform extraordinarily in your job and get an award for it but have no one to share your happiness with. Is this kind of “success” worth the effort ? Maybe not.
Money and love
We, humans are social creatures, we need company, so it might be okay to say that success means a good job where you perform well and your career graph is on an upswing plus money in the bank plus someone or some people who are close to you and who can share your victories with. Thus we need money and love – they are both important in our life even though there are some who believe that money is all that is required to lead a good life.
There are others who place love above everything to the extent of ignoring material comforts. Neither of these extremes will bring total happiness or success. You need to balance the two.
What kind of life?
How do you achieve this balance? You have to initially decide what kind of life you want and then work towards getting that life. You have to prioritise all the factors that influence your life – give each the importance and place it deserves. Ensure that they don’t cancel each other out. If you give too much weightage to money, love gets neglected and if you give too much importance to love then you don’t work hard enough to get the desired results in your work life.
The key is balance – between work life and personal life, between money and love. Once you figure out the correct weightage you need to give to each, things will work out and you will get the happiness, love and monetary success that you are wai
